The Home Buying Process

There are many important steps to take in the buying process that you will want to follow as it is most likely one of the largest purchases that you will make in your lifetime. Below is a list that I have assembled to assist you in a smooth transaction.

Mortgage Approval

The first thing you will want to do is to get pre-qualified through a mortgage agent. A reputable mortgage agent will provide you with an accurate amount that a bank will approve you for borrowing. They will also furnish you with a pre-approval letter which is important as you will need to have that on file for when you make your offer. This will show sellers that you are a sound candidate for purchasing their home.

Location

Each location can range in home price, services, taxes, schools and lifestyle offered. Whichever areas you are considering, let my experience guide you as you navigate your decisions in the search process. I have worked with several clients in the area and can share my intimate knowledge about the various different locations and what they offer.

Type of Home

There are several types of homes to choose from including Condos, Single Families and Multifamilies. Each offers their own benefits that I can discuss with you when selecting one that fits your lifestyle best.

Home Inspection

No matter the age of a property, a professional inspector will provide you with a report of the home’s current condition. This information can assist you with budgeting for future repairs as well as have a great understanding of the home necessary care.

Ask Questions

Be sure you are asking questions so that you can educate yourself as much as possible on the home. Questions like the age of systems, why the seller is selling and what local area services are offered would all be great questions that should be standard as you tour properties.
